Some system components--for example, device drivers and virus protection utilities--can conflict with the Adobe Creative Suite installer and result in an incomplete or failed installation. To prevent these conflicts, install Adobe Creative Suite from the desktop.

Install Adobe Creative Suite 2.3

Note: Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Premium contains four installation CDs for Creative Suite components and separate installation disks with stand-alone installers for Dreamweaver and Acrobat 8.

To install Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 from the desktop:

1. Insert Adobe Creative Suite 2.0 Disk 1 in your CD-ROM drive.

2. Go to Applications/Utilities and start Disk Utility.

3. Select the Adobe Creative Suite icon from the left hand pane.

4. Choose File > New > Disk Image from Adobe Creative Suite Disk 1.

5. In the Convert Image dialog box, name your disk image Adobe Creative Suite Disk 1 and save it to the desktop with default settings (that is, read-only format).

Note: Disk Image files have an extension of DMG.

6. Repeat steps 1-5 for Adobe Creative Suite Disks 2-4, naming each disk with the appropriate number, for example, Adobe Creative Suite Disk 2, Adobe Creative Suite Disk 3, and so on.

Note: Dreamweaver 8 will be installed later in the install process. It is not necessary to install both GoLive and Dreamweaver. If you don't want to install GoLive on your machine, then you do not need to repeat steps 1-5 for the fourth Creative Suite CD as it will not be required for the installation process.

7. Double-click on each of the disk images on the desktop file to mount them. You will see an Opening dialog box.

8. Double-click the Adobe Installer file inside the Adobe Creative Suite Disk 1 window and begin the installation process.
