Support Policy for FrameMaker 6.0 (and earlier versions) in Windows Me or XPProducts affected

Adobe FrameMaker 6.0 and earlier versions were released before Windows Me and XP, so FrameMaker wasn't developed for them. (FrameMaker 6.0 was developed for Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000; FrameMaker 5.5 was developed for Windows 95 and NT.)

Preliminary testing reveals no major problems in running FrameMaker in Windows Me or XP, but Adobe cannot guarantee results. Adobe has identified only one issue in running FrameMaker in Windows XP: If you open a document that contains unresolved links to graphics, FrameMaker may crash if you click Update Document to Use New Path. The FrameMaker 6.0 p405 XP patch resolves this problem; you can download the patch from Adobe's Web site at www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=1420. See Adobe's Web site at www.adobe.com/products/framemaker/fmwindowsxp.html for more information.

If you use FrameMaker in Windows XP or Me, Adobe Technical Support can assist you with FrameMaker features and with issues that also occur on supported Windows platforms. However, Technical Support cannot assist you with FrameMaker problems that occur only in Windows Me or XP. Instead, you can use the following support options on Adobe's Web site:

-- The User to User Forums (www.adobe.com/support/forums/main.html ), which contain information that customers have posted.

-- The Support Knowledgebase (www.adobe.com/support/products/framemaker.html ), which contains solutions for issues that occur in supported operating systems.
