2. In the [APIClients] section of the maker.ini/fmsgml.ini file, locate the lines referring to the IsoDraw filters you want to install. Each line referring to an IsoDraw filter contains the name of the filter (CGM Import, CGM Export, IGES Import, IGES Export, DXF Import, DXF Export, HPGL Import, or HPGL Export) and the term "IsoConverter.dll."

3. Remove the semi-colon at the beginning of each of these lines (if present) to install the IsoDraw filter referred to in the line.

4. When you install IsoDraw filters, you must uninstall the Inso filters that are of the same type, to ensure that the IsoDraw filters work properly. For example, if you install the IsoDraw CGM Import and CGM Export filters, you must uninstall the Inso CGM Import and CGM Export filters.

In the Filters section of the maker.ini/fmsgml.ini file, locate the lines referring to Inso filters which are the same type as the IsoDraw filters you installed in steps 2 and 3. Each line referring to an Inso filter contains the name of the filter (CGM IMAG, DXF IMAG, HPGL IMAG, or IGES IMAG) and the term "GFXImport"(for import filters) or "GFXExport"(for export filters.)

5. Place a semi-colon at the beginning of each of these lines (if not already present) to uninstall the Inso filter referred to in the line.

6. Save and close maker.ini or fmsgml.ini.

Should be:

1. Exit from FrameMaker.

2. Open the maker.ini file (FrameMaker) or the fmsgml.ini file (FrameMaker+SGML) in a text editor that can save in text-only format (e.g., WordPad).

4. Remove the semi-colon at the beginning of each line referring to the filter you want to install.

5. In the Filters section, locate the lines referring to Inso filters that are the same type as the IsoDraw filter you installed in steps 3 and 4. These lines contain the name of the filter (CGM, DXF, HPGL, or IGES) and the term "GFXImport"(for import filters) or "GFXExport"(for export filters).

6. Place a semi-colon at the beginning of each line referring to the filters you want to uninstall.

7. Save the maker.ini or fmsgml.ini file in text-only format, then close it.

8. Start FrameMaker.

Modifying preferences for IsoDraw filters

(Middle of Page 3)

Preferences files for IsoDraw CGM, AutoCAD DXF, and IGES filters are located in the fminit/filters folder. You can accept the default preferences settings for these filters, or modify the settings. (No preferences files are included for IsoDraw HPGL filters; thus you cannot modify preferences for these filters.)

Should Be:

The preferences (.prf) files for IsoDraw CGM, DXF, and IGES filters are installed into the \fminit\filters folder, which is in the FrameMaker installation folder. However, for FrameMaker to access them, they must be copied to the filters folder in the FrameMaker installation folder. If the preferences files are not in the filters folder when you use the IsoDraw filter, FrameMaker will create new ones automatically.

It is not necessary to modify the settings in the .prf files. You can accept the default preferences settings for these filters. No preference file is included for IsoDraw HPGL filters; thus you cannot modify preferences for this filter.

To modify the preferences settings for the IsoDraw CGM, AutoCAD DXF, or IGES filters

(Page 3)

1. Open the fminit/filters folder and do one of the following:

= To modify settings for the IsoDraw CGM filter, open the optcgm.prf file.

= To modify settings for the IsoDraw AutoCAD DXF filter, open the optdxf.prf file.

= To modify settings for the IsoDraw IGES filter, open the optigs.prf file.

2. Follow the instructions in the preferences file for modifying the preferences settings.

3. When you have finished modifying the settings, save and close the file.

Should Be:

1. Open the Optcgm.prf file (CGM filter), Optdxf.prf file (AutoCAD DXF filter), or Optigs.prf file (IGES filter) in a text editor that can save in text-only format.

2. Follow the instructions in the preferences file for modifying the preferences settings.

3. Save the file in text-only format and close it.
