Default Paragraph Font Changes When Applying a Character Format

Issue

When you apply a character format to all characters in a paragraph in an Adobe FrameMaker document, the Default Font properties of the paragraph tag change to the applied character properties.

Solutions

Do one of the following:

Solution 1

Create a new paragraph tag for the paragraph, rather than applying a character format to every character.

Solution 2

Add an extra space to the end of the paragraph, then apply the character format to all characters except the extra space.

Additional Information

If you apply a character format to every character in a paragraph, the Default Font properties of that paragraph tag will change to the applied character properties. The paragraph tag changes so you can update an entire document instead of having to individually update paragraphs.
