Error "Macro and dialog boxes are out of sync. Stopping macro" in FrameMaker for UNIX
Issue
When you try to run a macro, Adobe FrameMaker for UNIX returns the error message, "Macro and dialog boxes are out of sync. Stopping macro."
Solution: Rewrite the macro making sure valid input is submitted to dialog boxes.
For instructions, see Chapter 21, "UNIX Macros and Utilities," (pp. 495-500) of the Adobe FrameMaker User Guide.
Background information
If you receive the error message, "Macro and dialog boxes are out of sync. Stopping macro," while running a macro in FrameMaker, invalid input was submitted to a modal dialog box (for example, a dialog box in which you must either click OK or Cancel before performing an action). FrameMaker then ignores (discards) the remainder of the macro input. For example, using the common keyboard shortcut "!opd" to open the paragraph designer does not put the focus in the dialog box, and the macro is unable to continue. The appropriate keyboard shortcut for opening the paragraph designer and placing the focus in the paragraph designer dialog box is "!Fip". For more information on which keyboard shortcuts to use in macros, see FrameMaker Online Help.
