How to Apply a Tint to Text in FrameMaker 5.5Products affected

Adobe FrameMaker 5.5 has a new tint feature that allows you to apply a percentage of a color to selected objects and text.

Applying Tint to Graphical Objects

To apply a tint to a graphical object, select the object and enter a value from the Tint pop-up menu in the Tools Palette.

Applying Tint to Text

To apply a tint to text, you must first define a tinted color and then apply it to the text.

Define the new tinted color:

1. Choose View > Color > Definitions

2. From the Name pop-up menu, select New Color, and enter in a name for the color.

3. From the Print As pop-up menu, select Tint.

4. Select a Base Color. You may select one of the 8 spot colors or a custom color that you previously defined.

5. Enter a percentage for the Tint by typing in the value or adjusting the slider.

6. Click Add.

Apply the tint to the text:

1. Highlight the text and select the new color in one of three ways:

- The Color option in the Paragraph Designer (Default Font Properties)

- The Color option in the Character Designer from the Color pop-up menu

- The Color option in the Tools Palette

2. Click Apply to apply the new tint to the text.
