Printing from FrameMaker 5.x for Windows to a QMS Printer Produces Postscript Error

Issue

When printing an Adobe FrameMaker 5.xdocument to a QMS printer, FrameMaker returns the error, "Offending Command MYSETUP", followed by stack information, and the document does not print.

Solutions

Obtain a copy of the corrected version of the QMS1725.SPD file. It can be found on the QMS Web Page (at www.qms.com) under Drivers and Windows 95 platform; on the QMS BBS in the Windows 95 Library; or in the QMS CompuServe Library (at GO QMSPRINT).

OR: Modify the 'setoutputray' line of the QMS1725.SPD file to 'setoutputtray'.

1. Open the QMS1725.SPD file, using a text editor that can save in text-only format.

2. Search ** the filefor `setoutputray' (typed exactly as shown).

3. Change the line to read `setoutputtray' (typed exactly as shown).

4. Save the file in text-only format.

Additional Information

This problem can be traced to the*.SPD files that Microsoft shipped with Windows 95. There was a typographical error in one line of code that referenced the output tray.
