Table or Anchored Frame Not Set to Float Separates from Anchor in FrameMaker 5 to 5.1.2
Issue
A table or anchored frame that isn't set to float separates from its anchor in Adobe FrameMaker 5 to 5.1.2.
Detail
The document has at least one of the following formats:
-- The text flow containing the table or anchored frame uses side heads.
-- The table or anchored frame straddles both the side-head area and columns.
-- The table does not straddle the side-head area and columns, but its left indent is set to a value greater than zero.
Solutions
Do one of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Use FrameMaker 5.5 or later.
For information on upgrading to the current version, visit Adobe's Web site at http://store.adobe.com/store/products/master.jhtml?id=catFrameMaker .
Solution 2: Resize the table or anchored frame.
In FrameMaker 5.0.x or FrameMaker 5.1.1, resize the anchored frame or table so it doesn't straddle the side-head area.
Solution 3: Set the left indent to zero.
If the table does not straddle the side-head area, set its left indent to zero.
1. Click an insertion point in the table.
2. Choose Table > Table Designer.
3. Set the Left indent to zero and click Apply.
Solution 4: Set the paragraph that contains the anchor to start at the top of the page.
1. If text symbols are not displayed, choose View > Text Symbols to display them.
2. Click your insertion point in the paragraph that contains the anchor for the table or anchored frame.
3. Choose Format > Paragraph > Designer.
4. Choose Pagination from the Properties pop-up menu.
5. Choose Top of Page from the Start pop-up menu, and then click Apply.
Background information
When you insert a table or anchored frame in a text flow, FrameMaker creates an anchor at the insertion point. If the table or anchored frame is set to float, it can move away from its anchor and flow onto the next column or page.
If the text flow uses side heads and the table or anchored frame straddles the side-head area and text columns, the table or anchored frame may move away from its anchor even though it isn't set to float. You can force the table or anchored frame to remain with its anchor by setting the paragraph containing the anchor to start at the top of the page.
