Superscript, Subscript, or Enlarged Text Causes Horizontal Misalignment of Text in Table Row in FrameMaker
Issue
After you apply a larger point size or the superscript or subscript style to paragraph text in a table cell in Adobe FrameMaker 5.x or earlier, text in the cell's row is no longer aligned horizontally.
Solution
Set the Line Spacing attribute to Fixed for the paragraph tags in the table cell's row:
1. Select all cells in the row, then Choose Format > Paragraphs > Designer.
2. From the Properties pop-up menu, choose Basic.
3. Set the Line Spacing attribute to Fixed.
4. From the Commands pop-up menu, choose Global Update Options.
5. In the Use Properties in the Paragraph Designer field, select Basic Properties Only.
6. In the Update Paragraph Formats section, select All Matching Tags in Selection, then click Update All.
7. Close the Paragraph Designer dialog box.
Additional Information
If you apply an increased point size or the superscript or subscript style to paragraph text in a table cell when the Line Spacing attribute for the paragraph tag in the table cell is not set to Fixed, FrameMaker resizes the line spacing of that paragraph. As a result, FrameMaker increases the size of the cell's row, shifting the horizontal baseline position text in all cells of the row and causing the text in the row to become horizontally misaligned. Changing the Line Spacing to Fixed for all the paragraph tags in a table row prevents FrameMaker from changing the horizontal baseline position of text to accommodate for superscripts, subscripts, or characters with a point size different than the default point size for the paragraph.
