How to Include Filenames and Paths in a List of References in FrameMaker

When you generate a List of References (LOR) in Adobe FrameMaker, by default the list includes each reference and the reference's page number. You can also include the filename of the reference by adding <$filename> to the LOR reference page. To add the filename and the file's path, add <$fullfilename> instead of <$filename>.

To add <$filename> or <$fullfilename> to the LOR reference page:

FrameMaker 6.0

1. Generate a LOR file:

a. Open the source document, and choose Special > List Of > References.

b. In the dialog box that appears, select one of the following options:

-- Select Yes to create a standalone LOR file

-- Select No to include the LOR in a book file

c. In the Set Up List of References dialog box, move desired references to the Include References list.

d. Click Add or Set. FrameMaker generates and opens a LOR file.

2. Choose View > Reference Pages.

3. Display the LOR reference page: Choose View > Go To Page, choose LOR from the pop-up menu, and click Go.

4. In the line that contains <$referencename> (which represents the reference), type <$filename> or <$fullfilename> wherever you would like the filename or filename and path to appear in each reference in the LOR file. For example,

<$referencename><Emphasis><$filename><Default Para Font><$pagenum>

5. Save the file.

6. Regenerate the LOR file:

-- If the LOR file is standalone, repeat step 1.

-- If the LOR file is in a book file, open the book window, and choose Edit > Update Book.
