Anchored Frame Jumps to Next Page in MIF Document in FrameMaker 4-5.x
Issue
If you open an MIF document in Adobe FrameMaker 4-5.x, an anchored frame that extended to the bottom of a text frame begins on the next page instead. Similarly, if you select the Floating option, the anchored frame jumps to the next page but does not return to its previous location if you deselect Floating.
Solutions
Do either of the following:
Solution 1
Change the FrameMaker document's Display Units from inches to picas:
1. Choose View > Options.
2. Choose Pica from the Display Units pop-up menu.
3. Save the document as MIF.
Solution 2
Resize the anchored frame to return it to its previous location:
1. Choose Special > Anchored Frame.
2. Deselect Floating in the Anchored Frame dialog box.
3. Decrease the height of the anchored frame until the frame jumps back to the previous page.
4. Adjust the anchored frame so that it extends to the lower edge of the text frame.
Additional Information
When redrawing a page, FrameMaker 4-5.x rounds the dimensions of an anchored frame to the nearest thousandth. For example, it rounds 5.68056 to 5.681. If the rounded dimensions cause the anchored frame to exceed the size of its location, the anchored frame jumps to the next page.
