Cannot start Breeze due to duplicate admin login

Issue

The Breeze server is unable to start. There is an entry in the log files similar to the line below:

 main (e) <status code="invalid"><invalid field="login" type="string" subcode="duplicate"/></status>

Reason

The email address used in the custom.ini file for ADMIN_EMAIL is already found in the database. Breeze throws an error when initializing because of this conflict.

Solution

Use a different email address for the ADMIN_EMAIL attribute found in the custom.ini file. Use the following steps to do so:

  1. Stop all Breeze services.
  2. Open the custom.ini file.
  3. Locate 'ADMIN_EMAIL' and change the entry to another email address.
  4. Save the custom.ini file.
  5. Restart the Breeze services.

Note: Another reason the duplicate entry can occur is when an import is done to the database that inserts a second ADMIN_EMAIL record. There may be problems deleting the record from the database and the database will have to be reverted to resolve the conflict.
