Does the spell checker recognize foreign words in graphic text lines? (FrameMaker 6.0, 7.0)

Issue

You created foreign language text using the Text Line tool in Adobe FrameMaker, but the spell checker offers English corrections.

Detail

The spell checker offers foreign language corrections when you check regular paragraph text and the foreign language is set in the Paragraph Designer.

Solution: Reset the language attribute for text lines.

Unlike regular paragraph text, the language attribute for text lines is not set through the Paragraph Designer. By default, it is set to the language of the version of FrameMaker installed on your system.

To reset the language attribute for text lines, select the text line, choose Graphics > Object Properties, and select the appropriate language.

Note: If you created the text lines with this attribute set to English, you must reset the attribute for each text line to the appropriate language. When the attribute is reset, this setting is maintained for any new text lines created for this document until you change the attribute again.
