How to Disguise Confidential or Proprietary Text in FrameMaker 5.x
Using Adobe FrameMaker's Find/Change feature, you can disguise confidential or proprietary text in a FrameMaker document. You may want to do this if you need to send your file to Adobe Technical Support for assistance. To disguise confidential or proprietary text in a FrameMaker 5.x document, make a backup copy of your file, then follow the steps below to substitute one character for another throughout the document:
1. Select the text you want to disguise. You do not need to select anything if you want to disguise all the text in the document.
2. Choose Edit > Find/Change.
3. In the Find/Change dialog box, select Use Wildcards.
4. Deselect Consider Case.
5. Choose Text from the Find pop-up menu, and in the text field to its right, enter a character.
6. Choose To Text from the Change pop-up menu, and in the text field to its right, enter a different character or number.
7. Click Document if you want to change the entire document, or click Selection if you want to change just the text you selected in step 1. Then, click Change All In.
8. Repeat these steps, replacing a different character each time, until the content of your document is disguised.
