Director mailing lists

Direct-L

Direct-L is a discussion forum for Director developers in the form of an Internet mailing list. You "subscribe" to the list to send and receive e-mails, or "posts", from other users who are also subscribed to the list. Any e-mail that anyone sends to the list is also sent to you, and likewise, any e-mail that you send to the list is sent to others subscribed to it. Many of the netiquette issues described in the Macromedia Online Forums Posting Guidelines also apply to the mailing list.

Direct-L is operated by a third-party and Macromedia has no direct affiliation with the list except that Director is the topic of the list. You may see posts from Macromedia employees, but Macromedia does not commit to employees reading or responding to all posts. If you want direct support from Macromedia, we offer various support plans. We list Direct-L here so that you are aware of all of the Director resources available to you.

We highly recommend that you search Direct-L before you subscribe and post. It is likely that your question has been answered before. But, if you don't find it answered, you can subscribe to the list and then post your question. Subscription instructions are available at Director Web.

Lingo-L

Lingo-L is a very active discussion forum dedicated to the use of Lingo, Director's programming language. Click here to visit the homepage for subscription instructions.

Shockwave-L

Shockwave-L is a second list that focuses on Director authoring for the Internet. The same netiquette applies, and Macromedia employees may participate in discussions. We strongly recommend that you search the Shockwave-L digests first. Subscription information is available at chinwag.com.

DirGames-L Mailing List

You can use this page to subscribe to the new DirGames-L mailing list. It's a link to cover the subject of Games development using Macromedia Director (though Flash is not a banned topic either).

DIR3D-L

This list is intended to assist developers working specifically with the 3D elements of Macromedia Director. It is a good resource for developers to find answers to problems, learn techniques and programming approaches and to share their work. Please respect standard netiquette when using the list and use appropriate subject headings. Click here to visit the home page for subscription instructions.
