Each Table Row in IAF File Appears on Separate Page in FrameMaker 4 or 5

Issue

When you open an IAF (Interleaf ASCII Format) file in FrameMaker 4 or 5 for UNIX, each table row in the file appears on a separate page.

Solution

Disable the Keep With Next Row and Previous Row options in the Row Format dialog box for the table:

1. Select the entire table by pressing Control and triple-clicking a table cell, or by clicking an insertion point in the table and typing Esc t h t.

2. Choose Table > Row Format.

3. Set the Keep With Next Row and Previous Row buttons to Off.

4. Click Set.

Additional Information

Because of some inconsistencies in the "Allow Page Break After" statement in IAF files, tables may acquire a page break after each row when you open an IAF file in FrameMaker 4 or 5 for UNIX. You can remove the page breaks in FrameMaker using the Row Format dialog box.
