Text in a FrameMaker Document with Sideheads Appears and Prints Cropped

Issue

Adobe FrameMaker 5.0.x or 5.1.x displays and prints capital letters cropped when you apply a Frame Above to paragraph text in a document containing sideheads.

Solutions

Do either of the following:

Solution 1

Use FrameMaker 5.5 or later. For information on upgrading to the current version, visit Adobe's Web site at www.adobe.com/products/framemaker/main.html .

Solution 2

Apply a fill of None to the frame on the Reference page.

Additional Information

When you apply a Frame Above to paragraph text, FrameMaker 5.0.x or 5.1.x crops capital letters on-screen and in print. This problem is most evident in bold text or text to which you've applied the fonts New Century Schoolbook and Helvetica at a size larger than 10 points. FrameMaker 5.5 applies more space between the paragraph text and the Frame Above, so it correctly displays and prints text with the Frame Above attribute.
