Reactivation failure after upgrading to Adobe Flash 7.2

Issue

The following content applies to NA, APAC and EMEA Geos

After installing and using Adobe Flash MX 2004 version 7.2, some users on certain Windows machine configurations are prompted to activate other Adobe products, even though they had previously activated these products. After repeated launches and prompts to reactivate, this process can fail with the user unable to launch the product.

Solution

A Product Reactivation Hot Fix is available for download. This Hot Fix will update the incompatible module and allow the reactivation of the affected products to complete successfully. Following the update and reactivation of the affected products, all Adobe products will run together with no further unexpected activation messages.

To install the Hot Fix:

  1. Download the Flash 7.2 Reactivation Hot Fix (2.16 MB). The file is an EXE file.
  2. Run the Hot Fix, choose a language setting and click OK.
  3. The Hot Fix will ask for confirmation to perform the update. Click Next to begin the update process.
  4. You will receive a confirmation of the successful completion.
  5. At this point, you can launch and reactivate your affected products successfully. You may have to reactivate more than one product, but you will only have to install the hot fix one time.
