ColdFusion MX 6.1: Verity support for Linux

Macromedia has created a hot fix for Verity to support additional versions of Linux. Verity is now supported with ColdFusion MX 6.1 on the following Linux versions:

• Red Hat 7.2, 7.3, 8, 9
• Red Hat AS 2.1, 3.0
• Red Hat ES 2.1, 3.0
• Suse 7.2, 7.3, 8.0

Note: The hot fix is not required for Red Hat 7.2, AS 2.1, ES 2.1 or Suse 7.2 since the version of Verity that ships with ColdFusion MX 6.1 already supports these Linux versions.

Follow the instructions below to install the hot fix for ColdFusion MX 6.1.

ColdFusion MX 6.1 - Server Configuration:

1. Download the hot fix. (3.6 MB)
2. Stop ColdFusion.
3. From the cf_root/lib directory, back up the existing _ilnx21 directory by running the following command:
   zip -r backup.zip _ilnx21/
4. Copy the hf50943.zip to the cf_root/lib directory and extract it to overwrite existing files by running the following command:
   unzip -o hf50943.zip
5. Restart ColdFusion.
6. Once you have confirmed that Verity is working correctly, the backup.zip file created in step 3 may be deleted.

ColdFusion MX 6.1 - J2EE Configuration:

1. Download the hot fix. (3.6 MB)
2. From the ./WEB-INF/cfusion/lib directory, back up the existing _ilnx21 directory by running the following command:
   zip -r backup.zip _ilnx21/
3. Copy the hf50943.zip to the ./WEB-INF/cfusion/lib directory and extract it to overwrite existing files by running the following command:
   unzip -o hf50943.zip
4. Stop and restart the J2EE server for changes to take effect.
5. Once you have confirmed that Verity is working correctly, the backup.zip file created in step 3 may be deleted.

Note: Any existing Verity Collections will need to be re-indexed once the hot fix has been installed.
