RAID configurations and Macromedia Product Activation

Issue

The following content applies to NA, APAC and EMEA Geos

RAID drive configurations may not work with Macromedia Product Activation and are not officially supported at this time.

Reason

The following content applies to NA, APAC and EMEA Geos

Licensing information for the activated application is stored in an anchor file on the hard drive. This information is constructed from information on the hard disk geometry and the CPU of the machine which together form a unique identifier for that machine.

With a RAID configuration, that anchor information is replicated onto a separate disk which has different geometry and can cause the corruption of the RAID configuration. Users who have this type of configuration are cautioned when attempting to activate Macromedia products that include product activation because we cannot guarantee the software will operate effectively in this environment. Use at your own risk.
