ColdFusion MX: License violation error reported on systems using hyperthreaded processors

Issue

When installing Macromedia ColdFusion MX on a Windows system that uses hyperthreaded processors, you may receive a warning telling you that your system contains more processors than you are licensed for.

 Warning: The installer has detected that this system is equipped with<number> processors. Each license for Macromedia ColdFusion MX entitles you to deploy the software on up to 2 CPUs. Before continuing with installation, please check to make sure you have purchased the appropriate number of licenses for your system.

Solution

ColdFusion MX licensing is based on physical, not logical, processors. As long as you have purchased the appropriate number of licenses, you may ignore this warning and continue the ColdFusion MX installation.
