ColdFusion MX: Unsupported Function isAuthorized error in ColdFusion Administrator
Issue
After upgrading to Macromedia ColdFusion MX from an earlier version of ColdFusion, you may see the following error when opening the ColdFusion Administrator:
Error Occurred While Processing Request Function isAuthorized is not supported in ColdFusion MX
Versions of ColdFusion prior to MX used theisAuthorized function in the Administrator. In ColdFusion MX and higher, this function is obsolete and is not included in the Administrator.
This error indicates that the CFIDE directory, which contains the code for the ColdFusion Administrator, was incorrectly installed. This usually occurs when upgrading from a previous version and the Administrator directories are not copied over correctly.
Solution
To resolve this issue:
- Re-install, paying careful attention to the directory you choose as the web root so that it will overwrite the existing CFIDE directory.
-
-or-
- Copy the CFIDE directory from a working server running the same version of ColdFusion.
If neither of these solutions work for you, please contactMacromedia Technical Support to resolve the issue.
