ColdFusion MX 6.1 (Windows only): Hot fix for Crystal Reports

Issue

Macromedia has created a hot fix to address the following issues with cfreport in Macromedia ColdFusion MX 6.1:

  • 53406 - After upgrading from Macromedia ColdFusion MX to ColdFusion MX 6.1, Crystal Reports .rpt files called viacfreport no longer render the correct report. The same report will always be rendered, regardless of what .rpt file is defined in the cfreport tag of the ColdFusion template.

The cfcrystal.exe process is launched when cfreport is called on a ColdFusion template. However, when the ColdFusion MX Application Server Service is shut down, the cfcrystal.exe process fails to terminate. If cfcrystal.exe is running during the upgrade to ColdFusion MX 6.1, it will not be updated with the ColdFusion MX 6.1 version of cfcrystal.exe.

Note:New ColdFusion MX 6.1 installs will not have this issue.
  • 53522* - cfreport fails with ColdFusion MX 6.1 when connecting to a data source that requires a username and password. The following eror is thrown as a result of data not being written to the request.dat file:
Error number 536 ocurred (Error in File C:\CFUSIONMX\WWWROOT\CUSTOMER\CLAWSON\ORA9TEST.RPT: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.).
Note: If the data source requires a username and password, that information must be provided in the cfreport tag.

* Issue 53522 added on June 30, 2004. Hot fix download updated to include fix for this issue.
