Deploying projects in HomeSite 4.5 or Studio 4.5

The following TechNote shows how to Deploy projects in HomeSite 4.5 and Studio 4.5.

Deployment, also known as uploading, is the process of copying all of the files in your project to the host server. You deploy projects using HomeSite's Deployment Wizard.

The following steps show how to deploy projects:

  1. Open the project you want to deploy in the Projects tab.
  2. Next Set the Deployment Path. Right-click on the Project icon (The Globe) and select Properties

If you want to deploy directly into the root put in a slash (see example below). If you would like to deploy to a different folder, browse to your Allaire FTP connection and select that folder.
  3. From the Projects menu, choose the Deployment Wizard button to see the Deployment Script Wizard dialogue box.
  4. The Deployment Script Wizard window will appear.
  5. Click Deploy Directly, then click Next.
  6. The Deployment Destination dialogue box will appear.

To deploy to a local or network path:
    1. Click Local/Network Deployment, click Next, then click Finish.
To deploy to a remote server:
    1. Click Remote RDS/FTP Deployment and click Next.
    2. Select the server(s) you want to deploy to and click Next.
    3. Click Finish.
Please Note: Your Deployment Servers are selected automatically in the server list. Any remote servers that have been mapped to in the Universal Files tab are also included in this list. You can deploy your project to any of these servers, however, only information for the Deployment Servers is included in the .apf file for the project.

The Results window opens automatically and displays the results of your Deployment on the Deployment tab.
