Adding an ActionScript to HomeSite

The steps in this TechNote show how to add an ActionScript to HomeSite or ColdFusion Studio.

1. Save the .js file.
   Save the *.js file in your HomeSite UserData folder. The location of this folder varies by version. For HomeSite+, the default location is C:\Program Files\Macromedia\HomeSite+\UserData.
2. Next, create a button to activate the JavaScript. In HomeSite, select the Script Tab on the upper tool bar.
   
   Note: The Script tab is hidden by default. To add it to the toolbar, right-click within the toolbar and choose the Script menu item.
3. Right-click on the Script tab and selectCustomize, then press the Add Custom Button option.
4. Select the radio button Execute an ActiveScript file
   
5. Browse to where the .js file from step 1 is located. Give the button a name and then name the mouse over caption
   
6. Select OK, then Close.

The ActiveScript button will now appear on the Script Tab.
