Extension Manager 1.5 does not work with Dreamweaver 3 or Dreamweaver UltraDev 1
Issue
Extension Manager 1.5 does not list or recognize Macromedia Dreamweaver 3 and Macromedia Dreamweaver UltraDev 1 extensions. Version 1.5 also does not support Macintosh OS 8.6 or Windows 95.
Reason
System requirements and supported versions have changed to better support newer versions of Dreamweaver. Version 1.5 of the Extension Manager is designed to work with:

Dreamweaver 3 and UltraDev 1 are no longer supported in Extension Manager 1.5. The operating system requirements for this release have changed to require Mac OS 9 or above, and Windows 98 or above.
Solution
Uninstall Extension Manager 1.5 and install version 1.3.
The 1.3 version of the Extension Manager is available for download and supports Dreamweaver 3 and UltraDev 1. Extension Manager 1.3 supports Windows 95 or greater, and Mac OS 8.6 or greater.

Follow these steps to completely uninstall Extension Manager 1.5.
| 1 | Choose Start> Settings > Control Panel and click the Add/Remove Programs icon. |
| 2 | Use the Add/Remove Programs feature to uninstall all the currently installed versions of the Macromedia Extension Manager. |
| 3 | After uninstalling all versions of the Extension Manager, open Windows Explorer (you can do this by right-clicking the Start button and then selecting Explore). |
| 4 | Navigate to find and open the following folder:Program Files\Common Files\Macromedia\ |
| 5 | Delete the following files in the Macromedia folder: |
| EMLaunch.dll Extensions.dll Gemstone.dll Note:Make sure that your operating system is set to display these DLL (system) files. To set Windows 98 to display these files: a Choose Start> Settings > Control Panel. b Choose View> Folder Options. c Click the View tab. d Look in the Files and Folders > Hidden Files section. Select the "Show all files" option if it is not already selected. e Click OK. |
