Macromedia Flash Player 6 Buffer Overflow

Issue


Macromedia has verified a vulnerability in the parameter handling of the Macromedia Flash Player ActiveX control, version 6,0,23,0 only. If exploited, it can lead to execution of malicious code if this particular version of the Macromedia Flash Player ActiveX control is installed on the machine.

Solution


Macromedia has resolved this issue with an updated version. Download the latest Macromedia Flash Player 6 to eliminate this potential vulnerability.

Note: Player versions earlier and later than 6,0,23,0 are not affected by this issue. To check your current player version, please refer to Version test for Macromedia Flash Player (TechNote 15507). If you have 6,0,23,0 installed, please update to the latest version.
