Updated Macromedia Flash Player Active X control resolves streaming issues

Issue


When loading media into Macromedia Flash Player 6, the media continues to load even if Macromedia Flash Player 6 makes additional requests for media (i.e. .swf, .jpg or .mp3 files), or if the user leaves the web page.

This issue affects loading various media types, including:
Sounds
Video
Images
Other Flash movies

Reason


This issue only occurs in early versions of the Macromedia Flash Player 6 ActiveX Control, available for Microsoft Internet Explorer on Microsoft Windows platforms. Macromedia has released an updated version of Macromedia Flash Player 6 (version 6,0,29,0) which resolves this issue.

Solution


The latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player is available from theMacromedia Flash Player Download Center.

Note:To insure best performance developers are advised to use the latest CODEBASE tag to direct Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows to install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player ActiveX Control.
