Linking in image maps
Issue
You can create a link for an image map by typing a path in the Link text box on the Property inspector (rather than using the Browse for File icon to establish a link). When the page is viewed in a browser, however, the image map link may not work.
Reason
Your image map link may not be working because you did not remove the pound sign ("#") that Dreamweaver automatically placed in the Link text box on the Property inspector.
Solution
If you plan to manually type the path for your image map link, be sure to delete the pound sign ( "#") from the Link text box on the Property inspector before you begin typing.
