Dreamweaver ignores the specified method for FTP transfer

Dreamweaver 4 does not honor the FTP method of transferring files specified in FTPExtensionsMap.txt. Whatever the specified setting, all files upload using BINARY. For example, CGI scripts to be uploaded using BINARY, even though ASCII is often the preferred method.

This is due to an issue with the formatting of the whitespace in the FTPExtensionsMap.txt file itself.

Solution

Download and install the Dreamweaver 4.01 Updater.

Note: This updater will only work with Dreamweaver 4.0.
