4.01 Updater and new trial version available

Dreamweaver 4.0 users can download the 4.01 Updater to address Issues 1 and 2 above. A new Trial version of Dreamweaver 4.0 is also available for download. Descriptions of the issues and recommended solutions for both Dreamweaver 3 and 4.0 users are listed in greater detail below.

Issue 1: GIF images appear distorted

Some GIF images may appear distorted in the Dreamweaver document window. The distortion may be characterized by misrendered or missing colors.

Solution

Note: This updater will only work with Dreamweaver 4.0.

Dreamweaver 3 users:

Update to the latest version of QuickTime, which includes Apple's fix for the issue.

Dreamweaver Trial version users:

Users of the new 4.0 Trial version should also update to the latest version of Apple's QuickTime.

Issue 2: Selecting text

While in Dreamweaver's Design View, users have difficulty selecting text when certain specific applications are running in the background.
