Adding content to pages based on a template in Dreamweaver 4

Limits of adding content to pages from templates
In Dreamweaver 4, you can add content, such as behaviors, to pages based on templates. Some content, however, cannot be added directly to the pages based on a template, including timelines, hand coding in non-editable regions, and making changes to a Navigation Bar. Below you'll find a description of the limitation, as well as a suggested solution:

	Timelines Timelines cannot be inserted into a page based on a template. Solution Detach your page from the original template (Modify > Templates> Detach from Templates). Doing so means that the page will no longer be updated when changes to the original template are made. If detaching the page is not feasible, consider adding the timeline into the original Template itself. As long as the timeline is not set to "Autoplay," it is possible to have the code for the timeline in a page without ever actually playing the timeline. This means it is possible to include a timeline in a template, and only play that timeline in certain pages based on that template.
	Hand coding in non-editable regions You cannot add hand coding (including JavaScript) into a non-editable region in a page based on a template. Solution Detach your page from the original template. Doing so will mean that the page will no longer be updated when changes to the original template are made. If detaching the page is not feasible, consider adding the hand coding into the original Template itself.
	Changes to a Navigation Bar You cannot add to a Navigation Bar that was created in the original template. Solution The easiest solution is to make the changes to the Navigation Bar in the original Template. If you only want to apply changes in the Navigation Bar to a specific page, you should detach that page from the original template.
