Dreamweaver freezes during FTP transfer

Issue
Dreamweaver appears to freeze during an FTP transfer.

ReasonThere are several reasons why Dreamweaver might freeze during an FTP transfer: not using passive FTP for a server that requires that setting; a server that is down or busy network traffic, combined with a high FTP Time Out; and insufficient permission on the server to create the temporary XYINZWSK folder that Dreamweaver needs to get the time from the server. The solutions to those factors are listed below.

Please note that someFTP commands simply take a long time to execute and simulate a freeze during an operation that is in fact behaving properly.

Solution
Three common factors cause a freeze during an FTP transfer:

	Not using passive FTP for a server that requires that setting. Set Passive FTP in Define Sites and try transferring again.
	A server that is down or busy network traffic, combined with a high FTP Time Out. Lower the FTP Time Out in Preferences and, if the transfer is still unsuccessful, try transferring at a different time.
	Insufficient permission on the server to create the temporary XYINZWSK folder that Dreamweaver needs to get the time from the server. Please read Synchronize and Select Newer options are not working correctly (TechNote 14413) for more information on the issue.
