Setting up Dreamweaver's FTP connection to AOL
Dreamweaver has no problem connecting with the AOL FTP sites, but AOL requires a nonstandard method of entering FTP information.
As of this writing, this is how AOL recommends entering Web-server information:
- Launch Dreamweaver.
- Launch AOL.
- Sign on to AOL with the AOL software.
- In Dreamweaver's Document window, choose Site > Define Sites to open the Define Sites dialog box.
- Select the site.
- Click Edit.
- Switch the Category to Web Server Info to open the Site Definition dialog box:
- FTP Host is members.aol.com.
- Host Directory is left blank.
- Login is ftp.
- Password is the user's full e-mail address (user@aol.com).
