Using multibyte fonts in Macromedia Flash
Support for using multibyte fonts varies between Macromedia Flash versions.
Macromedia Flash MX and Macromedia Flash Player 6 introduce unicode support. Both the level of support and the requirements for using multibyte fonts depend on the method used to enter the data. For complete information on methods and requirements, refer to the article Unicode in Macromedia Flash MX.
Macromedia Flash 4 and 5 support multibyte fonts for Japanese characters. Japanese is the only multibyte language fully supported by Flash 4 and 5.Requirements for creating a Flash 4 or Flash 5 movie with Japanese fonts:

Author on a Japanese operating system. |

Author using a Japanese version of Flash. |
An alternate method that may allow use of unsupported fonts is to create the text in another program and import into Macromedia Flash as a raster image.
Note: Macromedia Flash MX authors can also use the above method of bringing in a raster image.
