Null links cause browser to jump to top of page
Issue
Clicking a null link with an attached behavior causes the browser to jump to the top of the page.
Reason
Netscape and Internet Explorer 5 see the pound character (#) as a named anchor on the same page. The browsers start searching for the named anchor at the top of the page. When the named anchor is not found, the browsers stop at the top of the page.
Solution
In the Link text box of the Property inspector, replace the default pound character (#) with the following text:
| javascript:; |
Note:Behaviors must be applied to the <a> tag of a link. The pound sign is the default method Dreamweaver uses of providing a null link to which behaviors may be applied.
