Dreamweaver 2.01 Release Notes

The Dreamweaver 2.01 patch fixes minor issues related to the JavaScript extensibility mechanism, as well as the time zone and high-ASCII issues described below. If you are working in the United States and are not writing or using third-party data translators and property inspectors, you probably do not need to download this patch. If you have downloaded the Dreamweaver extensions for Apple WebObjects 4, you already have the patch and do not need to download it separately. Note that this patch will update copies of Dreamweaver 2 that you have purchased either on CD or through purchase and download, but it will not update the 30-day trial.

See the Dreamweaver 2 release notes for a full list of Windows and Macintosh issues that are still outstanding.

Creating new files in the Site window on Macintosh
If your Date & Time control panel is set to a time zone that is between Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) + 1 and GMT + 11 (this covers all areas between France and Fiji), there is a problem in Dreamweaver 2 that prevents you from creating a new file in the Site window. This problem has been fixed in version 2.01 as well as in the localized versions of Dreamweaver 2.

Entering high-ASCII characters in the Page Properties dialog box
A problem where high-ASCII characters entered in the Title field in the Page Properties dialog box were not being encoded properly has been fixed in Dreamweaver 2.01.

Changes and fixes to the Dreamweaver JavaScript API

Dreamweaver 2 would occasionally report a JavaScript error when inspecting locked, translated content. This problem has been fixed in 2.01.
A new function,dreamweaver.useTranslatedSource(), has been added to the API to make it easier to inspect and manipulate translated content. Details on this function are available in the latest version of the Extending Dreamweaver documentation, posted on February 22.
Dreamweaver 2 would crash when thedreamweaver.offsetsToNode()function was called in documents containing content outside of theHTMLtag. This problem has been fixed in 2.01.
ThegetTranslatorInfo()function can now return an additional array item that specifies what the default Translation preferences should be for the translator. Details on this item and its use are available in the latest version of the Extending Dreamweaver documentation, posted on February 22.
