Why does sound play in the Flash editor, but not in the .swf file?Products affected

Issue

Why does sound play in the Flash editor, but not in the .swf file?

Reason

Flash provides an option to disable specific sound settings upon export as a Flash Player movie. If a movie plays with sound when tested in Flash, but no longer plays once it has been exported as a Shockwave Flash file (.swf), it is likely that one or more sound options have been disabled.

Solution

Choose File > Export Movie. Name and save the file as a Flash Player movie (.swf). In the Export Shockwave Flash window, verify that the Rate for neither "Audio Stream" nor "Audio Event" is set to disable.
