How can I add the extra fonts included on the Flash 2 CD to my Macintosh?

Issue

On the Flash CD there is a folder called CD Extras. In this folder are some extra fonts. How do I use these fonts on my Macintosh?

Solution

To install the fonts do the following:

  1. Quit the Flash application.
  2. Drag the fonts to your System Folder. You will need to drag each font to the System Folder. For example, the font folder URW Antigua should not be dragged to the System Folder, however the folders within URW Antigua: Extra Narrow, Extra Wide, Narrow, Normal and Wide should be dragged to the System Folder.
  3. A dialog box will appear stating: "Fonts need to be stored in the Fonts folder in order to be available to the Macintosh. Put these fonts into the fonts Folder?"

    Select OK.
  4. You may also receive the following dialog box: "The fonts will not be available to currently running applications until they have quit."

    Select OK.
  5. Launch Flash.

The new fonts should now be available.
