How to copy frames from one movie to another

Flash's Copy Frames and Paste Frames commands allow you to move frames or entire scenes from one movie to another.

To move or copy frames from one movie to another:
  1. Open the movie you wish to move or copy frames from.
  2. Select all frames in all layers. To do this, click in the first frame of the first (top) layer and then shift-click in the last frame of the last (bottom) layer.
  3. Choose Edit > Copy Frames.
  4. Open the movie you wish to copy the frames to.
  5. Select Insert > Scene.
  6. Click in the first blank keyframe of the second movie and choose Edit > Paste Frames.

The layers from the first movie will retain their names in the second movie. Library assets used in the frames copied from the first movie will now appear in the second movie's Library.

Note: In Flash 5, layer names will not be preserved in the movie that the frames are copied into. Layers in the new movie will be named sequentially ("Layer 1", "Layer 2", etc.) from the bottom layer to the top.
