Understanding Where FreeHand Adds New Pages
Question
Since I've started using the Animation Powerpack's Flash animation, I find that
I'm adding many pages to a FreeHand document. Sometimes it seems like these
pages fall in random places on the pasteboard. This makes it very difficult for me
to control my animation when I'm morphing blends across pages. What can I do
about this?
How FreeHand handles pages
FreeHand attempts to add pages first to the right of the original page. When it
gets to the right edge of the pasteboard (which is 18.5 feet square, or 222 inches)
it starts the next page underneath the first row on the LEFT side of the pasteboard.
The problems begin when FreeHand gets to the lower right corner of the pasteboard.
Because there is no room left for more pages FreeHand will continue adding from
the UPPER LEFT corner of the pasteboard..
Answer
Before adding a large number of pages, use the Page Setup Inspector to move the
original page into the upper left corner of FreeHand's pasteboard. This should
allow all of your page additions to fall in order.
