Uninstalling Studio 8 applications on Macintosh OS X
Issue
There are no uninstallers available for Macromedia Studio 8 products on Macintosh OS X, except for Fireworks 8 and Flash 8.
Solution
To uninstall any of the Studio 8 software, users can manually delete the installed application files.
Following are examples of the files and folders that should be removed when uninstalling one of the Studio 8 products.
Note: The files located in the Users folders may need to be deleted for each user account that has run one of the Studio 8 applications on the machine.
Dreamweaver 8
- Applications > Macromedia Dreamweaver 8
- Users > username > Library > Application Support > Macromedia > Dreamweaver 8
- Users > username > Library > Preferences > Dreamweaver 8 Prefs
- Users > username > Library > Preferences > com.macromedia.Dreamweaver.plist
Fireworks 8
Note: You can use the Fireworks uninstaller (run the Fireworks 8 installer again and choose "uninstall").
For manual Fireworks 8 uninstall:
- Applications > Macromedia Fireworks 8
- Users > username > Library > Application Support > Macromedia > Fireworks 8
- Users > username > Library > Preferences > Fireworks 8
- Users > username > Library > Preferences > com.macromedia.fireworks.plist

Tomanually uninstall Flash 8 files:
- Applications > Macromedia Flash 8
- Users > username > Library > Application Support > Macromedia > Flash 8
- Users > username > Library > Preferences > Flash 8 MRU

Contribute 3.11
- Applications > Macromedia Contribute 3
- Users > username > Library > Application Support > Macromedia > Contribute 3
- Users > username > Library > Preferences > Contribute 3 Preferences
- Users > username > Library > Preferences > com.macromedia.Contribute.plist
- Users > username > Library > Preferences > cbookmarks.html*
*(do not delete this file if you want to keep the bookmarks you saved in Contribute)
Additional Files
Shared files
There may also be Macromedia files under the Shared User account. If reinstalling the application, you can leave these files alone. If doing a full or clean uninstall, you can remove these files.
Here is an example path for Flash 8:
Users > Shared > Library > Application Support > Macromedia > Flash 8
Extension Manager
You would typically only need to uninstall the Macromedia Extension Manager if there was a problem with the program, or you wanted to clean out all Macromedia-related files.
- Applications > Macromedia Extension Manager
- Users > username> Library > Preferences > Extension Manager Prefs
- Users > username > Library > Preferences > com.macromedia.ExtensionManager.plist
