Error "Parameter is incorrect"

Issue

You see a "Parameter is incorrect" error in Dreamweaver 8 when you perform the following actions:

When you try to save changes to a file on an offline mapped network drive (Windows). (Ref. 202814)
When you perform: File > New > click on Templates tab (Windows). (Ref. 202810)
When you attempt to Put, Get or Synchronize files to or from a remote server, attempt to open a file, or try to connect to the remote server. (Ref. 200120)

Reason

The first two problems above can occur if you don't have the Dreamweaver 8.0.2 or 8.0.1 Updater installed. The third problem above can occur if one of the files in your website has a corrupt or missing time stamp.

Solution

If you're experiencing one of the first two problems in the Issue section, then install the Dreamweaver 8.0.2 Updater.
If you're experiencing the third problem in the Issue section, you should install the Dreamweaver 8.0.2 Updater; but if the updater doesn't solve the problem, then try the following steps to see if one of your files has a corrupt timestamp:
1. Temporarily move all of the files and folders out of the root folder for your website (for example, wwwroot or htdocs) on the remote server to a different folder.
2. See if you can connect to the server in Dreamweaver and perform the actions that were not working before.
3. If this resolves the problem, upload the files from your local machine back up to the remote server in small groups or one by one. As you do this, test the actions in Dreamweaver that were causing the problems to see if you can isolate a particular file as the cause. You can also look in a file browser for any files in your website that may have corrupt or missing time stamps.
