ColdFusion MX 6.1 and 7: Update for expired certificate on CFForm controls

Issue

Adobe has created a hot fix to address the expired certificate error with the cfform applets in ColdFusion MX 7.x and 6.1.

The new JAR file updates the expiration date on the cfform applets (cfgrid, cftree, cfapplet, cfselect, cflider and cftextinput) to May 20, 2010. This fix is for ColdFusion MX 6.1 and ColdFusion MX 7.x.

Solution

The steps to install the updated file are:

  1. Download the updated JAR file (87K).

Note: Internet Explorer may try to change the name of cfapplets.jar to cfapplets.zip. If this occurs, be sure to save the file as cfapplets.jar.
  2. Back-up the existing cfapplets.jar file, located in the \web_root\cfide\classes directory, to a different directory.
  3. Save the downloaded cfapplets.jar file to the \web_root\cfide\classes directory.

Note: If you have copies of the \cfide\classes directory under multiple web sites, you must repeat steps 2 and 3 for each instance.
