Flex 1.5 display issue with Firefox on RedHat Linux

Issue

When requesting a Flex application from a Firefox 1.0.5 browser on the RedHat Linux platform, you will get a partially displayed SWF. The application shows in a narrow stage pushed to the left hand side of the browser while the rest is clipped off.

Reason

This is due to Mozilla bug 234328, where it fails to assign the proper display area when you use a percentage style width/height attribute or don't specify any width/height attribute in the application tag. Firefox on Windows doesn't have this problem.

Solution

Since it is a browser specific bug, there is no fix available from Macromedia. To work around the problem, you must define absolute values for the width/height attributes for the application tag.
