If Flash Player is installed on your browser, the following box displays the version of Flash Player and your operating system. If Flash Player is not installed, an error message is displayed.

Problem

You are having problems installing Flash Player on 64-bit Internet Explorer.

Solutions

You can install Flash Player 11 on 64-bit Internet Explorer on Windows 7.

Note: If you are using Windows Vista or XP, install Flash Player on 32-bit Internet Explorer.

  1. Check if you have 64-bit Windows
  2. Check if you have 64-bit Internet Explorer
  3. Install Flash Player on 64-bit Internet Explorer

Check whether you have 64-bit Windows

32-bit operating systems are not explicitly called as 32-bit systems.

To check the Windows version:

  1. Click the Start menu.
  2. Right-click Computer (in Windows 7) or My Computer (in Windows Vista and XP). 

  1. Click Properties. A System Properties window displays the operating system information. If you are running 64-bit Windows, the window indicates the version as shown in the image below. If it is not indicated, you have 32-bit Windows.
    If you have 64-bit Windows, go to the next step.
    If you have 32-bit Windows, see Download and install latest Flash Player.


Check whether you have 64-bit Internet Explorer

On 64-bit Windows, you can have 32-bit or 64-bit Internet Explorer.

  1. Click Start > All Programs.
  2. Locate Internet Explorer.
    If 64-bit Internet Explorer is installed, the program name includes "64 bit" (Internet Explorer 64 bit). Otherwise, you have 32-bit version.
    If you have 64-bit Internet Explorer, go the next step.
    If you have 32-bit Internet Explorer, see Download and install latest Flash Player.

Install Flash Player on 64-bit Internet Explorer

  1. Open 64-bit Internet Explorer.
  2. Download Flash Player installer from the Download Adobe Flash Player page.
  3. Double-click the installer and follow the prompts. For more information, refer to Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows.
  4. After the installation, check the status of Flash Player.

Note: When you download Flash Player installer using 64-bit Internet Explorer, you download the 64-bit Flash Player installer. It installs Flash Player on 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Internet Explorer if both are present.
