Breeze 5 emerging issues

Some users have reported that the following issues are affecting their usage of Breeze 5. Issues described in this document may prove to be platform or system specific, and may not affect all users. Technical support will update this document as we learn more about any of the issues, so check back frequently.

Known issues (no longer emerging) can be found in the bottom section of this document.

Emerging Issues

Presenter

• PowerPoint files with Type 1 fonts fail to publish to Breeze
• Apple Keynote content is distorted when screen sharing in Breeze
• Quiz Slide formatting lost when editing a Quiz
• PNG files used as background images do not display in the Theme editor

Meeting

• Breeze 5 Add-in for Outlook does not work with Breeze 5.1

PowerPoint files with Type 1 fonts fail to publish to Breeze

Issue

PowerPoint files that contain a Type 1 font will not publish.

Workaround

Remove all type 1 fonts from your PowerPoint presentation prior to publishing.

Apple Keynote content is distorted when screen sharing in Breeze

Issue

When screen sharing Apple Keynote content in Breeze the shared content becomes distorted and unreadable.

Workaround

One option is to convert your Keynote presentation to a PowerPoint presentation and then share the PowerPoint presentation instead of the Keynote file. Another option is to to flip slides manually in Keynote rather than playing the slide show while screen sharing

Quiz slide formatting lost when editing a Quiz

Issue

Formatting changes made to Quiz slides revert to the default settings after changes to a quiz are made in the Breeze Presenter Quiz Manager.

Workaround

Avoid making formatting changes to quiz slides until all quiz questions have been added and edited from within the Quiz Manager.

Breeze 5.0 Add-in for Outlook does not work with Breeze 5.1

Issue

Users that have previously used the Add-in for Outlook and users installing or setting new Add-in preferences receive the following alert message. "This version of the Breeze Add-in for Outlook does not work with your current version of Breeze. Please contact technical support for more information."

Reason

The Breeze Add-in for Outlook does not work with Breeze 5.1 servers at this time. The Breeze engineering team is aware of this issue and actively working to resolve this problem. Please check this TechNote for future updates about this issue.

Browser windows for attendees fail to go into the "browser Full Screen" mode

Issue

Meeting user interface for attendees without the meeting add-in, opens in a browser window with toolbars visible.

Solution

Most Windows users that experience this issue should be able to avoid the problem by pressing the F11 key.

Uploaded files with double-byte character names do not display in the File Share pod
topic update: June 20, 2005

Issue

Files with double-byte character names do not upload correctly to the file share pod. The file will be listed on the uploaded content page of the webapp as "?????????" as well as failing to show up in the file share pod.

Solution

The locale of the machine must correspond to the language of the file name.

1. Go to Control Panel > Regional and Language Options>Advanced:
2. Set the language for non-Unicode programs to match the language of the file name.

Chat performance becomes sluggish

Issue

Chat performance in Breeze will become slow or sluggish over time.

Solution

Chat performance is related to the number of messages that exist in the Chat pod. Macromedia recommends that the chat pod be periodically cleared of all messages in order to prevent sluggish performance.

Filtering on name for report-my-meetings produces an error

Issue

If you try to use filter-like-name=X with report-my-meetings you get:

Do not use the name field when filtering.

LMS_SCORM1.2 never returns "completed" after a quiz

Issue

LMS_SCORM1.2: It never returns 'completed' if presentation contains a slide after a quiz and when it's set to open a URL for passing grade.

Solution

Quizzes that report completion status should not open a URL in the same window. If you wish to open a URL, you should open the URL in a new window.

PNG files used as background images do not display in the Theme editor

Issue

PNG files do not display in the theme editor when used as background images.

Solution

Use a JPG file instead of a PNG file.

Breeze Live Meeting does not display PowerPoint presentations, SWF, JPG, or FlashPaper content.

Premiere Audio does not stay attached to a Breeze meeting

Issue

Conference call information does not stay attached to a Breeze meeting.

Solution

Screen updates are not delivered when screen sharing an application on a Macintosh
topic update: June 20, 2005

Issue

When sharing an application from a Macintosh operating system in a Breeze meeting room, not all actions performed by the Host or Presenter function in the shared application. The viewer does not see all the screen updates.

Solution

Cannot type in an application shared in a Breeze Meeting when using a Remote Desktop connection

Issue

If you are screen sharing an application in a Breeze Meeting on a machine that is connected using Microsoft's Remote Desktop and you allow the user to type in the application, the text is mangled.

Solution

Cannot view CSV Import Result file

Issue

After importing a .CSV file and trying to download the result file, users may not see any changes or files being downloaded.

Solution

Progressive JPEG files do not appear in Breeze

Issue

Progressive JPEG image files will not display in Breeze.

Solution

Private content added to a shared template becomes public

Issue

When creating a shared template, all of the content in the room is considered public, regardless of any permissions that may have previously been set.

Screen sharing does not work as expected with dual monitors

Issue

If you choose to share your screen in Breeze and the application/window you want to share is on another screen in a dual monitor setup, the application/window will not be shared.

Solution

Open URL feature in the Pass or Fail Options Tab of the Quiz Settings dialog box does not work

Issue

Issue

Solution

This is a documentation error that has been brought to the attention of our Documentation group so that the table can be removed. For the time being, please disregard this table in the Breeze Installation and Configuration Guide.
